Summer Strawberries

We picked strawberries with our friends the Wallaces tonight.  They know a sweet spot and have been keeping it from me for four years, I guess we're that good of friends now.  I wish I had a camera while we were picking because there were so many strawberries, little Scotia (2.5) found a frog but refused to kiss it, the kids ate their weight in berries, while I was in something like heaven.

We got home late and had to get the strawberries ready to freeze. I washed 'em, picked off the green parts, chopped 'em with my new Pampered Chef chopper (I love that thing), and bagged them all while watching a movie.  I can't wait to eats 'em, I think crepes with Nutella and strawberries are on the menu tomorrow morning, if only I can find someone to make 'em.

I Love SUMMER!!

  1. Yum! Joe and I took the kids strawberry picking this Summer and I loved it! However we had to pay an arm and a leg for them, ...so my next trip to Costco was a sad realization that strawberries should not cost more than 2.99 per container! Haha! But the experience is fun I will admit! You most certainly scored!

  2. Sweetness! I was going to head out to the strawberry picking field last weekend just outside of town, but I was too slow this year. Nothing beats fresh fruit!

  3. Wow, wish my plants would produce like that. We're lucky for a few handfuls. FUN!
